Envision’s Short Term Medical Insurance is designed to tide people through short lapses in health insurance. Coverage is provided for physician services, surgery, outpatient and inpatient care. It is intended to protect against accidents, injuries and illness. Short Term Medical is considered creditable coverage.
Who needs Short Term Medical?
- Unemployed
- Self-Employed
- Between Jobs
- Recent College Graduates
- Part-Time and Temporary Employees
- Anyone in need of an alternative to COBRA
- New hires waiting to qualify for benefits
Who qualifies for coverage?
- Members and their spouses under the age of 65
- Members’ dependent children under the age of 19 (or under the age of 25 if a full-time student – varies by state)
- Children age 19 and over should apply separately
- Child only coverage is available for ages 2 through 18
Note: Short Term Medical does not cover pre-existing conditions.
